Private Corfu Shore Excursion: Achilleion, Mon Repos & Old Town
Spend six hours in the company of Corfu's royal past on this private shore excursion covering the island's highlights: the gardens and mythology-inspired statues of the Achilleion Palace, built for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, known as Sissi, the Mon Repos estate where Prince Philip was born, the classic Kanoni viewpoint over Mouse Island (Pontikonissi), and the kantounia of the UNESCO-listed Old Town.
Your driver meets you at the Corfu cruise port or your hotel and does this route year-round, timing each stop around the tour bus waves and knowing the details that make the difference: the best spot for the Kanoni photo, the quiet paths of the Mon Repos estate, and the side streets of the Old Town where locals actually shop. The pace is yours, with a longer, more relaxed visit at every stop than the standard half-day excursion allows.
Whether you are a family, a couple, or a solo traveler, the 6-hour itinerary adapts to your ship's schedule or your day on the island, with your on-time return guaranteed. Book your private Corfu tour directly with us.
Pick-Up from the Cruise Terminal
- Your private driver meets you at the cruise terminal or your hotel, and your tour of Corfu's highlights begins right away. No waiting for buses and no large groups.
Achilleion Palace
- Step into Corfu's royal past at the Achilleion Palace in the village of Gastouri, built for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, known as Sissi. Walk the landscaped terraces, admire the statues inspired by Greek mythology, including the famous Dying Achilles, and enjoy panoramic views over the Ionian Sea. Please note that due to ongoing restoration works, access is currently limited to the gardens and exterior areas; we keep track of the restoration progress and share the latest status with you before your visit
Mon Repos Palace and the Palaiopolis Estate
- Continue to Mon Repos, the birthplace of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, built in 1831 as the summer residence of the British High Commissioner and later used by the Greek Royal Family. Wander the estate's shaded paths among ancient ruins, and ask your driver to point you toward the quiet viewpoint over the sea that most visitors never find. Please note: the Museum of Palaiopolis inside the palace is closed on Tuesdays, though the estate and gardens remain open. On Tuesdays we adjust the visit accordingly or suggest an alternative.
Kanoni and the Mouse Island Viewpoint
- Take in the classic Corfu postcard view at Kanoni, overlooking the Monastery of Panagia Vlacherna and the islet of Pontikonissi, known as Mouse Island. Your driver times this stop around the tour bus waves and knows where to stand for the photo with both in the frame. If you like, enjoy a coffee at the terrace cafe above the viewpoint, watching the planes glide in low over the water toward the airport, a spectacle in itself that plane spotters travel here just to see.
Explore Corfu Old Town
- Finish in the UNESCO-listed Old Town, strolling the kantounia, the narrow Venetian alleys, past the Old Fortress, the Palace of Saints Michael and George, the Liston promenade, Spianada Square, and the Church of Saint Spyridon. Your driver drops you as close to the pedestrian zone as regulations allow and marks on your map the quiet side streets where locals shop, away from the souvenir row. Enjoy free time for cafes, shopping, and local tastes such as kumquat sweets, liqueurs, and artisan ice cream, at your own pace.
