We have been organizing this 3-day island combination since 2010, and it remains our most requested short itinerary from Athens. The routing works because the ferry connections run in one direction: Piraeus to Mykonos on a morning high-speed ferry (about 2.5 to 3 hours), Mykonos to Santorini in roughly 2 hours, and Santorini back to Piraeus on the final day. Every transfer, ferry ticket, and hotel is arranged in advance, and a driver meets you at each port so you never handle luggage logistics on your own.
Day 1: Athens to Mykonos & Farm Tasting in the Countryside
- Your driver picks you up from your Athens hotel and delivers you directly to the correct gate at Piraeus port. Piraeus has 12 gates spread across a large area, and high-speed ferries to Mykonos usually depart from gates E6 or E7, so this small detail saves real stress on departure morning. On arrival in Mykonos, your local driver escorts you to your boutique hotel. Spend the afternoon in Mykonos Town: the Alefkandra quarter, better known as Little Venice, where the old captains' houses hang over the water, and Matogianni Street with its shops and cafes.
- Local Farm Visit. In the evening we take you inland to a working farm near Ano Mera, away from the busy waterfront. The experience includes local wine, olive oil tasting, and a traditional foor tasting with live Greek music. Guests consistently tell us this is the meal they remember most from the trip. Overnight in Mykonos.
Day 2: Mykonos to Santorini & Oia Sunset
- After breakfast, a private transfer brings you to Mykonos port for the ferry to Santorini, a crossing of about 2 hours. Your driver meets you at Athinios port and handles the switchback road up the caldera cliff, a drive first-time visitors are always glad to leave to someone local. Check in to your hotel with caldera views, then explore Fira, the island capital, at your own pace.
- Oia Sunset. Your driver will take you to Oia well before sunset. We schedule this transfer 90 minutes ahead, because the viewing spots around the old castle ruins fill up fast in summer and the road into Oia backs up in the last hour before the sun goes down. After sunset, your driver is waiting to bring you back, so you skip the crowded bus lines. Overnight in Santorini.
Day 3: Santorini to Athens
- Your driver picks you up from your hotel and transfers you to Athinios port for the ferry back to Piraeus. On arrival, our team greets you at the exit of your gate and drives you to your Athens hotel. If you have an evening flight instead, we can route the transfer directly to Athens airport.
