Day 1: Athens - Corinth Canal - Ancient Olympia - Delphi
- 08:30 Pick-up: Your private driver meets you at your Athens hotel. Your 3 day private tour starts early, as this is the longest driving day of the trip. First stop is the Corinth Canal (approx. 1 hour), 6.4 km long and cut up to 90 meters deep through solid rock. Walk onto the bridge for your first photos.
Continue through the Peloponnese to Ancient Olympia (approx. 2.5 hours). On your private Ancient Olympia tour, see the Temple of Hera, where the Olympic flame is still lit today, the Temple of Zeus and the workshop of Pheidias.
Walk through the vaulted tunnel into the stadium where the first recorded Games were held in 776 BC, and stand on the original stone starting line. Allow about 2 hours for the site and museum.
Taste local olive oil and wine at a producers’ market in Olympia. It is a short stop that gives you the flavors of the region without slowing the day down.

Day 2: Delphi - Arachova - Kalambaka - Meteora Sunset
- 08:30 Delphi: We start at opening time, before the day trip coaches from Athens arrive in late morning. On your private Delphi tour, walk the Sacred Way past the Treasury of the Athenians and the Athenian Stoa to the Temple of Apollo, where the Pythia gave her prophecies, and stop at the Castalian Spring.
In the Delphi Museum, see the bronze Charioteer, cast around 475 BC, and the Sphinx of the Naxians. Allow about 2 hours for the site and museum.
Drive 10 minutes to Arachova, the best-known mountain village on Mount Parnassus. Stop for a traditional lunch and try formaela, the local cheese with protected PDO status, served grilled. Then continue north to Kalambaka (approx. 3 hours).
Arrive in time for sunset over Meteora. Your driver takes you to a viewpoint chosen for the season and the light, where the rocks turn gold and pink. Dinner (optional) and overnight in Kalambaka.
Day 3: Meteora Monasteries - Thermopylae - Athens
- 09:00 Meteora: The Meteora monasteries, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, were built from the 14th century on rock pillars rising hundreds of meters above the valley. Visit the Great Meteoron, the largest of the six active monasteries, and the Monastery of St. Stephen, reached by a short bridge with no long stairs.
Opening days vary, so we plan your visits around the monasteries open that day. Shoulders must be covered, and women wear a skirt, with wraps provided at the entrance.
After lunch in Kalambaka, drive south to Thermopylae (approx. 2 hours), where King Leonidas, his 300 Spartans and their Greek allies held the pass against the Persian army in 480 BC. See the Leonidas monument and the hill of the last stand. Arrive at your Athens hotel in the early evening (approx. 2.5 hours).
