7-Day Northern Greece Tour – Athens, Delphi, Meteora, Kastoria & Thessaloniki

Fulfilment of tour in Greece

We booked the 7 Day Ancient Greece tour with a private driver. We had an excellent 7 days and the driver, Spiros was very reliable, always being on time. He was courteous and exemplary in safety matters when driving. Whenever we were visiting sites, he would ensure the car and our personal affects were safe. We had no concerns throughout the tour regarding our belongings or personal safety.
We were in Meteora on the Orthodox Good Friday. The monastery opened later than usual, which in turn caused a problem with meeting the guide for the Vergina visit. Spiros stepped in and rearranged with the guide so as to not shorten the monastery visit, which was one of our "must-see".
Spiros has an amicable nature which serves to make the long daily journeys pass easily and communications with local inhabitants effectively. He provided excellent suggestions as where to dine at nearly all the stopping points, and was on friendly terms with the patrons of the various establishments.
He has a genuine interest in ensuring that his customers achieve their objective to enjoy their visit to Greece.
In terms of the itinerary, as we have chosen Ancient Greece tour, we were visiting Ancient Ruins most of the time. We had a guide for Mycenae, Epidaudus, Delphi, Vergina, Thessaloniki and Pella. We regretted not booking a tour guide for Olympia. We highly recommend booking tour guides for all the sites, as the guides' explanations enhanced the visits.
In terms of the itinerary, we consider the visit to Sparta was disappointing, and frankly a waste of time due to the poor state of the ruins, and subject matter. Additionally the driving time to Naousa and Aristotle's school was underwhelming. However, the other 95% of the itinerary are great sites to visit and see.
Note that as there were only 2 of us, we were driven in a small car which fit us and our luggage well. It was fit for purpose for our journey. We were both average built. If you are tall and of a larger built, you may want to make it clear to the company for a bigger car.

An incredible & perfect private tour - The best company, and the best driver!

Ours was a family trip to Greece (myself and my 2 children, both young adults). We spent 11 incredible days last winter (February 2020) and from the first e-mail I exchanged with Dimitra, everything went perfect. Since the understanding of our deep interest in Ancient Greece and its historical sites, to the hotels and suggestions for the travel : Athens, Olympia, Delphi, Arachova, Nafplio, Meteora, Thessaloniki, Corinth..and a lot more. But a special chapter of this recommendation should go to our incredible, expert and funny driver Yannis : nothing would have been the same without him, his dedication, his sympathy, his (always!) professional attitude that turned this trip in an amazing and unforgettable experience. We have donde several family trips together, including other private tours, but nothing compares with Yannis, his suggestions, his company and his great friendship along the way.
In short an absolute great experience, highly recommended to tourists that love to explore the best of Greece with the such special "touch" of local feeling that Yannis share with us.

Above and Beyond!

I must say that my family and I were very pleased with the services provided by everyone at Private Tours Greece. Miss Fotini was amazing at arranging all the details of my family trip. She was quick to respond to all my emails and she also took the time to respond to all the questions that I had prior to the selection of my final private tour. We booked a 12 day trip which included: Athens, Ancient Corinth, Kalavrita, Epidaurus, Olympia, Delphi, Nafplion, Macedonia, Arachovia, Meteora, Vergina, Viera, Thessaloniki, and Santorini. I must say that we were also very pleased with our driver (our wonderful Mr. Giannis). He was above excellent!!. He was funny, patient, friendly and very knowledgeable. We had a great time with Mr. Giannis the entire time we were on the road with him (about 7 days). He was an excellent driver as well. We also met drivers: George and Spyros who were also very friendly and punctual. In addition, we were very thankful to the agency that we were given the option to hire tour guides at each site. Tour guides is a must if you want to learn as much as possible at each archeological site. Greece has a lot of history so it is totally worth it. We were also please with the selection of our hotels and the secure method of payment for our trip. I highly recommend this agency without any hesitation. They are reliable, punctual, friendly, professional, and extremely helpful.

We also visited Santorini for 2 days and unfortunately our volcano tour in the island was cancelled the day before due to bad weather condition. I quickly called Miss Fotini from Santorini to let her know of our current situation. She immediately made arrangements for an alternative ground excursion in Satorini which was amazing as well. We were so thankful that she was able to make those arrangements for us at the last minute.

I hope to use Private Tours Greece services again hopefully in 2021 to go to Crete and Turkey. I would not hesitate at all in recommending their services to all my friends and of using their services again.

If you are looking to book a customized tour in Greece, do it with them.
We just had an AMAZING experience with this company as we booked a private tour for my wife, my mother, my 21 months old daugher and myself. Greece is beautiful, the food is excellent, the history is rich and the people are extremely nice.

A sincere thank you to Mrs. Dimitra for arranging everything, she managed to find an incredible guide that speaks French, English and Greek! Hats out to him, Efthymios Lazongas who has such deep knowledge of Greece in all its aspect, every stops was filled with interesting details. Also a huge thank you ot Kosta, our driver who kept his safe and assited whenever he could. Ask for them!

We seriously have nothing negative to say. We just had an incredible vacation.

Classical Tour a Classic

Our driver was on time, spoke English very well and was extremely knowledgeable and able to conduct intellectual and vigorous conversations. The car was clean and comfortable. The tour was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed every site and as there were only two of us we spent our time as we wished at each location. Accommodation was reasonable for our four star selection and always well located. Well worth the money. An excellent investment as without this private tour organised for us we more than likely would not have managed to see all that we did. Mind you, we saw lots but there was no rush at all. A small private tour is definitely the way to go.

Private Tour - Full day Athens & Cape Sounio plus 7 days mainland Greece

My wife and I, both in our sixties, just returned from a visit to the beautiful country GREECE, where EVERYTHING, beginning from the people all around, the sites, the cuisine are just marvellous and nature has bestowed immense beauty upon this ancient land.
We booked through PRIVATE TOURS GREECE and Madam Dimitra Katsouni, the Sales Manager was ALWAYS co-operative and very responsive at all the stages of my communication during the booking process.
I will be very ungrateful if I do not begin by thanking Mr Dimitris, the driver of our vehicle during the entire period of our tour. An excellent person with vast knowledge on the history and culture of ancient Greece, decent and sober at all times, he was more of a friend and guide than our driver, explaining everything in details and even coming up with suggestions when we were in doubt !! PRIVATE TOURS GREECE is the company with whom I would like to travel once again, if I re-visit Greece in future. Beginning from the vehicle, the hotels, the recommendations, everything was very good and very well arranged. However, like in all good things, there do happen to be certain blotches, I am compelled to say that our hotel in Thessaloniki, EGNATIA HOTEL, where we spent two nights,was simply BAD and didn't deserve to be called a proper tourist hotel. Beginning from a confusion at the front office regarding our reservation, the room, the breakfast choice, nothing was good. We could have overlooked the smaller flaws like breakfast or reservation, if at-least our room was worth a double bedded room. We had to sleep two nights on a bed slightly wider than a single bed in a cramped up room, with a toilet, where a well built person could hardly turn or twist.
My apologies to the entire team at PRIVATE TOURS GREECE for being harsh about our accommodation in Thessaloniki, in an otherwise VERY WELL ORGANISED trip, but I sincerely hope, future visitors will be assisted with a better hotel in Thessaloniki.

Seven day Classical private tour of Greece

Excellent tour which I have already recommended to friends. This was a last moment decision which met our time frame with a great itinerary. Booking was easy, 3 star hotels were very comfortable, itinerary visited sites that were extraordinary and restaurant suggestions were great. Our guide Nikos made our tour extra special by accommodating our interests and always finding us when we emerged from the busy sites. His knowledge of the sites and history was very helpful in appreciating the Greek history and culture.
I would certainly use this company again if I have the fortune to visit Greece again.

7 Day Classical Tour (Private)--Effortless Classic Road Trip

When our original holiday plans were cancelled on short notice, my cousin and I found Private Greek Tours and booked their 7-Day Classical tour, just the two of us with a car and driver, start any day--perfect! The company is a pleasure to work with, the itinerary packed in a lot and was well organized, our driver Nikos was delightful, and the accommodation was satisfactory. There are some long driving days, but breaks are frequent and mostly at interesting sites. Roads are excellent. It was so nice to sit back and let someone else do the driving, and we felt like we saw way more and experienced more of real Greece than folks on a tourist bus can ever do, and for a reasonable price. A classic road trip without hassles. Includes pick up and drop off at central Athens hotels. Fabulous! No favorite places because it was all good, but Meteora and Nafplio stand out, and also ancient Olympia early in the morning when we saw the ancient stadium with no one else there at all, except for the guy mowing the grass.

7 Day Grand Tour

We had a fantastic time. Our Driver Nicko was the best. He was a real gentleman and nothing was ever to much trouble for him.
He gave us great advise on what was good to see and where to go. He was very informative and I would highly recommend him to any one that would like to do a private tour.
His driving skills were great and safety always came first. He was more than just a driver. Private Tours Greece should be very proud of having him. What an asset.
I must say that Private Tours Greece did do a good job in selecting great hotels (4 stars) to stay in.
A very comfortable, clean car to travel in and the best driver.
He was very good and always a gentleman gave us our space and always at our beck and call.
I will definitely use Private Tours Greece again.

Highly recommended tour company!

We recently took a one-week tour of mainland Greece, including Olympia, Delphi, Meteora, Thessaloniki and Macedonia, with Private Tours Greece and we can't recommend them highly enough. Our Mercedes minivan was very spacious and comfortable and our driver, Dimitris, was wonderful.....very knowledgeable about Greek history and accommodating to all of our needs and wishes. We had excellent local tour guides in each of the places we visited on the tour. We enjoyed all of the hotels that Private Tours Greece had selected but they also allowed us customize the choice of hotels and restaurants in several places. We especially enjoyed the Bacchus Pension, located in a small town just outside of Olympia, where the view of the countryside was outstanding and the food/wine served in the on-site restaurant was plentiful and delicious. Taking a private tour with Private Tours Greece was so much more enjoyable than it would have been driving the long distances and staying in commercial hotels on one of the big bus tours and it was certainly worth the additional cost.

Thank you again for organizing a wonderful trip for us and for helping with the last minute changes.

I wanted to let you know that my husband and I had the most wonderful experience. We loved every bit of it. And the trip was made perfect by our driver, Kostas. He was just wonderful; so thoughtful, generous, kind, and smart. And of course, a very good driver! He went out of his way every day to be sure that he included special things and took the best care of us. Our trip will be forever memorable and we are incredibly grateful to him.
