Corinth, Diakopto, & Kalavrita Tour
My wife and I book a day tour of Ancient Corinth, Diakopto, and Kalavrita during the first week of February 2019. George Manis, our driver, was very courteous, friendly, knowledgable, and safe. The vehicle was clean and very comfortable as well. Mr. Manis met us around 8:30 AM at a local coffee shop near our rental. Our stops included the Corinth Canal, Ancient Corinth, Diokopto, and Kalvrita (via rack railway). Also, we stopped at the Cave of Lakes, which was very interesting. On our way back to Athens, he took us to one of the oldest known grapevines (Historical Pausanias Vinetree) known to be over 3000 years old. In between sites, Mr. Manis led some very interesting conversations and gave us great insight into Greek history, culture, and life.
I would definitely recommend using Private Tours Greece! Aside from the tour itself, Soultana (Reservations Dept.) responded to my inquiries by email in a timely manner and answered all the questions I asked.

Fantastic experience with top-notch service
The service was phenomenal on all fronts, from working with the team in the planning stages via email, all the way through to the end of the trip.
To start, communication was prompt and courteous while planning. I interacted with a few members of the team during the booking process, and each was equally warm and friendly. Even when I threw a wrench in things fairly close to my arrival date, requiring some last minute adjustments, everything was handled quickly and with understanding. They know how to make you feel like you’re a VIP. They checked in at various points leading up to my visit to keep me informed of every detail, and to ensure I felt comfortable in an unfamiliar place.
Upon pickup from the hotel by the driver, things only got better. The first leg of the tour required a good amount of driving, which could have easily been a drag. However, the driver, (whom likely wouldn’t mind me mentioning his name, but I will refrain simply out of courtesy) was great at balancing friendly, personal conversation while mixing in facts about Greece and the areas we traversed. The entire thing felt like hanging out with a friend you hadn’t seen in a long time, with the small talk soon turning to joking and laughing. We even had our own “inside jokes” by the end of three days.
One of the greatest things about the entire private tour was the personalization. I am a photographer, and as soon as the driver discovered that during those friendly conversations, he went out of his way to explore landmarks and pick some amazing places to stop. He seemed legitimately excited about making my trip the best it could be. He was quick to offer suggestions on places to eat with great food, great views and great staff. Everywhere we went, it felt like we were being greeted as friends, to the point of being recognized on a brief second visit to a restaurant we had eaten at the day before. The owner made it a point to walk over and “shake” my hand, inquiring how I had enjoyed the previous day’s events. I say “shake”, because it was more of a hearty, genuine pound hug.
We made brief stops in quaint, beautiful towns for coffee to break up the driving. Each time I was encouraged to explore with my camera, hitting the road whenever it felt right. He even organized a drive during one of the evenings to hit various vantage points around Meteora. It generated amazing imagery to remember such an impressive place.
I couldn’t recommend them more enthusiastically.

Seven day Classical private tour of Greece
Excellent tour which I have already recommended to friends. This was a last moment decision which met our time frame with a great itinerary. Booking was easy, 3 star hotels were very comfortable, itinerary visited sites that were extraordinary and restaurant suggestions were great. Our guide Nikos made our tour extra special by accommodating our interests and always finding us when we emerged from the busy sites. His knowledge of the sites and history was very helpful in appreciating the Greek history and culture.
I would certainly use this company again if I have the fortune to visit Greece again.

7 Day Classical Tour (Private)--Effortless Classic Road Trip
When our original holiday plans were cancelled on short notice, my cousin and I found Private Greek Tours and booked their 7-Day Classical tour, just the two of us with a car and driver, start any day--perfect! The company is a pleasure to work with, the itinerary packed in a lot and was well organized, our driver Nikos was delightful, and the accommodation was satisfactory. There are some long driving days, but breaks are frequent and mostly at interesting sites. Roads are excellent. It was so nice to sit back and let someone else do the driving, and we felt like we saw way more and experienced more of real Greece than folks on a tourist bus can ever do, and for a reasonable price. A classic road trip without hassles. Includes pick up and drop off at central Athens hotels. Fabulous! No favorite places because it was all good, but Meteora and Nafplio stand out, and also ancient Olympia early in the morning when we saw the ancient stadium with no one else there at all, except for the guy mowing the grass.

Truly spectacular!!! Greece is a beautiful country full of culture, history, incredible food and breathtaking natural vistas —seas, mountains, valleys. The 5 Day Classical Tour itinerary showcases all of those things. Nikos Tzortzas was the best driver imaginable. He was incredibly helpful, gracious and accommodating to my family and me. He’s friendly and professional. And he went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of at every step. If not for Nikos’ and Dimitra’s assistance our final day, we would have been stranded at the port when our boat charter suddenly changed the port at the last minute. We can’t say enough good things about Nikos—we quite literally would have been lost without him! The tour guides were informative and help Greece’s history and archeological sites come to life. While all of our guides were extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful, Katerina was a particularly great storyteller and got my 9 year old son more excited about Greek history and mythology. Great itinerary! Superb team!
We originally looked at a larger tour operation but found Private Tours Greece on TripAdvisor and decided to go with them. So glad we did. We had personal attention and avoided the crowds for about the same cost per person as the larger tours. Our only regret is that we had already arranged our sailing tour through a separate operation—we wished we’d coordinated with Dimitra and team instead. I would recommend Private Tours Greece to anyone visiting this amazing country!
