9 Day Greek Islands Tour to Santorini & Mykonos, Delos from Athens

After having returned from the “8 Day Tour to the Greek Islands” with Private Tours Greece a little over a week ago, I have to say the whole experience was nothing short of amazing. Soultana Bebekidou in the reservations department took great interest in our tour and rapidly responded to all of my questions during the planning phase and while in Greece. She returned all of my emails with 24 hours and answered all of my many questions. I was concerned about a TripAdvisor review of a hotel that was initially proposed, and Soultana quickly substituted it with another. All the hotels we stayed at were outstanding. My husband and I were traveling with our almost 3-year-old son. The hotels were all very child friendly and had either a baby cot or extra bed set up when we arrived. On our travels to Athens, Mykonos and Santorini we stayed at three four-star hotels and the included breakfasts at each were delicious.
Soultana offered to book our transfers with a car seat before I even had a chance to ask. She would email me ahead of time with the pickup time/location and the driver’s name and cell phone number. All of the cars were immaculately clean, our drivers spoke English and helped us with our luggage. Georgios Manis picked us up at the Athens Airport and was very welcoming and informative. He gave us a folder with all of our hotel vouchers and ferry tickets. Fotis Pagonis provided transport to and from the ferry port in Athens and Dimitris Maroulis drove us back to the airport at the end of our adventure. Dimitris also gave us some ideas of where to go on our next trip to Greece. The transfers in Mykonos and Santorini were equally good.
To get the most of our one day in Athens, we opted to pay for a licensed tour guide. Our excellent guide was Nancy Androutsopoulou. We think it was well worth the money to have a licensed guide lead us to the highlights in an efficient way. Nancy was very knowledgeable and also very sweet to our toddler. Our driver that day, Gerasimos “Gerry” Kontogeorgis, was also great. Gerry and Nancy planned the day so we would finish our tour of the Acropolis just before the cruise boat crowds arrived, and on our drive through Athens they arranged it so that we had only a five minute wait to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They even managed to squeeze in a side trip to help my husband find Greek oregano and Mountain Tea.

Amazing Tour of Athens!
We were in Athens for a couple of days so we wanted to do something that would let us see the highlights of the city. We chose the Christian Tour of Athens and Corinth with a private tour guide, but because it was so last minute we had a tour leader instead. However, our tour leader exceeded our expectations and we had an amazing day! If you want to see Athens, going on a tour with this company is a great choice.

I cannot overstate our satisfaction with tour guide, Helen, and our driver, Alex. This was a once-in-a-lifetime trip with 12 family members, and all of us were in agreement that the day exceeded our expectations. Helen was knowledgeable and personable and presented complete information about complex events in a straightforward, understandable way. Alex was the food expert who took us to a "mom and pop" restaurant where we filled the whole place and had a traditional Greek meal served family style. It was the second trip to Athens for my wife and I, and although we had been to several of the locations previously with a guide, we learned many new things. Experiencing Athens with our children and grandchildren just added to the pleasure. I commend your organization for the quality of the program and would recommend Helen and Alex to any travelers looking for a tour of Athens

I am originally from Greece - born and raised there. I have been living in the USA for the last 30 years. I visited with my family and friends (7 of us altogether) my home town of Halkida and Athens this summer (July 2018). I used this company for ALL our transportation needs (I will elaborate) and an one-day trip to Delphi.
Service was exceptional! I could not have hoped for anything more.
Transportations: Athens airport to Halkida (flight was delayed, no problem, driver was there waiting for us). From Halkida, back to Athens. From Athens hotel (downtown) to the airport.
One day trip to Delphi: our driver was Nikos Sahinis. What a wonderful person to spend a day with. He very quickly became a member of our family and we all enjoyed the trip together! Ask for Nikos, you will not be disappointed. Ioanna was our guide for Delphi (for our small group of 7) and she was also exceptional.
The people I communicated with were very professional, fast and efficient. All the drivers were great. All the vehicles we used were top of the line and extremely comfortable. Prices were very reasonable (I checked ahead of time with my family that still lives in Greece), but the most important part of the experience - service and friendliness - was outstanding.
I plan to use this company again and again when I next go to Greece again!

Great day in Athens
Our tour began with a hotel pickup by George. He was phenomenal! As our guide for the day he was very knowledgeable about the city as well as the history of Athens and Greece. He ensured the tour was customized to our likeing by showing us the specific locations we wanted to visit as well as provided a detailed explanation of each location. He also recommended an amazing lunch spot. We ended the tour with a stop at a local bakery for baklava. Once full of Greek desserts George was kind enough to drop us at the airport. Best tour we have ever taken.

Our driver/guide was Nikolas and he took care of our 4 days side trip to Olympia, Delphi, Meteora and Cape Sounion. His in-depth knowledge and giving us pre- tour instructions was extremely helpful in our understanding of each sites. He also brought us to town centres and small cobblestone alleys to understand the local culture and Greek way of life.
We were extremely happy with his recommendation of restaurants for our lunch stops.

Our All Time Favorite Trip!
My husband and I took a very customized "Footsteps of Paul" trip with Private Tours Greece and Nikos Sachinis as our driver. We have traveled all over the world and this was our most enjoyable trip ever. We had a conference in Athens, and frankly I wasn't overly excited about this particular destination. While there, we decided to go ahead and see as much of Greece as we could as we didn't plan to return. But now, we definitely hope to go back. We traveled on our own around the beautiful Peloponnese region for 1 week, spent 1 week in Athens, and 1 week with Nikos, traveling north of Athens. I can't say enough about how pleasant, fun, relaxing and wonderful it was traveling with Nikos. He took care of us in every way, paying attention to even the smallest detail. We saw so much more than we would have been able to see on our own. He went out of the way to help us have the best possible experience and nothing seemed too much trouble in accommodating our particular interests and preferences. It was much more like traveling with a beloved friend, who loves to share his vast knowledge of Greece.The food was delicious, the land beautiful, the history rich and the people warm and friendly. Greece is a fabulous travel destination and Private Tours Greece a wonderful way to experience it. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. My wife and I, both in our sixties, just returned from a visit to the beautiful country GREECE, where EVERYTHING, beginning from the people all around, the sites, the cuisine are just marvellous and nature has bestowed immense beauty upon this ancient land.
We booked through PRIVATE TOURS GREECE and Madam Dimitra Katsouni, the Sales Manager was ALWAYS co-operative and very responsive at all the stages of my communication during the booking process.
I will be very ungrateful if I do not begin by thanking Mr Dimitris, the driver of our vehicle during the entire period of our tour. An excellent person with vast knowledge on the history and culture of ancient Greece, decent and sober at all times, he was more of a friend and guide than our driver, explaining everything in details and even coming up with suggestions when we were in doubt !! PRIVATE TOURS GREECE is the company with whom I would like to travel once again, if I re-visit Greece in future. Beginning from the vehicle, the hotels, the recommendations, everything was very good and very well arranged. However, like in all good things, there do happen to be certain blotches, I am compelled to say that our hotel in Thessaloniki, EGNATIA HOTEL, where we spent two nights,was simply BAD and didn't deserve to be called a proper tourist hotel. Beginning from a confusion at the front office regarding our reservation, the room, the breakfast choice, nothing was good. We could have overlooked the smaller flaws like breakfast or reservation, if at-least our room was worth a double bedded room. We had to sleep two nights on a bed slightly wider than a single bed in a cramped up room, with a toilet, where a well built person could hardly turn or twist.
My apologies to the entire team at PRIVATE TOURS GREECE for being harsh about our accommodation in Thessaloniki, in an otherwise VERY WELL ORGANISED trip, but I sincerely hope, future visitors will be assisted with a better hotel in Thessaloniki.
