Why Choose a Private Tour in Rhodes

Private Rhodes Tours: Explore the Island at Your Own Pace

Discover the Authentic Side of Rhodes with a Private Tour

Our private tours in Rhodes cover the island properly: the UNESCO-listed Medieval Old Town and the Street of the Knights, Lindos and its Acropolis above the Aegean, the Valley of the Butterflies, the wine villages of the interior, and the coastal bays most cruise passengers never reach. We have been arranging private Rhodes tours since 2010, and we know which sites deserve two hours and which deserve twenty minutes. The itinerary is built around you.

Most visitors arrive in Rhodes expecting a medieval town and a beach. What catches them off guard is the scale of it: a walled city so intact you half-expect the Knights to still be there, a village in Lindos where donkeys still carry supplies up to the Acropolis, a coastline that changes from sheltered coves to dramatic cliffs within a few kilometres. Rhodes is one of the few Greek islands that genuinely rewards a slower look, and a private tour is the only way to take one without someone else's schedule getting in the way.

How Long Is a Private Tour in Rhodes?

Our private Rhodes tours run from 3 hours to a full day of 8 hours or more. A 3-hour private tour covers the Medieval Old Town and the Street of the Knights comfortably. A half-day adds Lindos or Filerimos. A full day brings in the Valley of the Butterflies, a wine tasting in Embonas, and a coastal stop at Anthony Quinn Bay or Kalithea Springs.

Cruise passengers or hotel guests?
Rhodes Commercial Harbour is a 5-minute walk from the Old Town gate, which means no tendering and no cable cars. Your driver and guide meet you directly at the port exit. We build shore excursions in Rhodes around your ship's schedule and guarantee your return before departure. For guests staying on the island, multi-day itineraries cover the full island at genuine depth.

What to See on a Private Tour in Rhodes?

The highlights are well known, but the way you reach them makes all the difference. The complete guide to things to do in Rhodes covers the full picture. For cruise passengers with limited time, our Rhodes shore excursions are built around your exact port schedule from the first minute. And for the Jewish heritage sites, our specialist guide brings a depth of knowledge that a general tour simply cannot match.

What Our Guests Say

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "We had four hours in port and covered the Street of the Knights, the Palace of the Grand Master, and the Jewish Quarter with a guide who clearly loved every stone of it. Back at the ship with thirty minutes to spare. Remarkable."
- Robert & Susan, couple from Australia

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Lindos in the early morning before the tour buses arrived was exactly what we hoped for. The driver timed it perfectly, the guide knew the Acropolis inside out, and we had lunch in the village before anyone else had finished their coffee. Perfect day."
- The Henderson Family, USA

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I specifically wanted to see the Valley of the Butterflies and a local winery. Nobody else was offering that combination privately. We had the butterfly valley almost entirely to ourselves and the wine tasting in Embonas was a genuine highlight of the whole trip."
- Maria K., traveller from Germany

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you pick us up directly from the Rhodes cruise port?
Yes. Rhodes Commercial Harbour is one of the easiest cruise ports in Greece for private tours: your ship docks at the quay, no tender required, and the Old Town gate is a 5-minute walk. Your guide meets you at the port exit with a name board, and your vehicle is waiting nearby. We confirm your ship's arrival time the evening before and adjust accordingly.

Is Lindos worth visiting on a short port stop?
Lindos is approximately 55 kilometres from Rhodes Town, which is around 50 to 60 minutes each way. On a port stop of 6 hours or more, combining Lindos with a stop in the Old Town is very manageable in a private vehicle. On shorter stops, we recommend focusing on the Medieval Town and Filerimos, which are closer and equally impressive. We advise on the best combination based on your exact arrival and departure times.

What is the Jewish Heritage Tour?
Rhodes has one of the most significant Jewish histories in the Mediterranean, centred on the La Juderia quarter within the Old Town. Our specialist-guided Rhodes Jewish Heritage Tour covers the Kahal Shalom Synagogue (the oldest in Europe still in use), the Jewish Museum, and the quarter's history from the medieval period through to the Second World War. Meaningful for any visitor, essential for those with personal or family connections to the community.

What is your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your tour for a full refund.

What You'll See on Your Private Rhodes Tour

The Medieval Old Town & Street of the Knights
The walled city of Rhodes is the largest inhabited medieval town in Europe, and walking the Street of the Knights with a guide who understands the crusader history changes what you see entirely. The Palace of the Grand Master, the Turkish quarter of Socrates Street, the remains of three civilisations layered one on top of the other. Without context it is impressive. With the right guide, it is extraordinary. For cruise passengers, the Old Town gate is a 5-minute walk from the port, which means no wasted time on transfers and more time inside the walls.

Lindos - The Acropolis Above the Sea
Lindos is the postcard version of Rhodes that most visitors have already seen without knowing it: a white village spilling down a hillside toward a bay, with an ancient Acropolis on the cliff above. The reality is more impressive than the photograph. The approach through the village, the climb to the top, the view of St. Paul's Bay where the apostle is said to have sheltered during a storm, and the Doric Temple of Athena, which predates the Parthenon. Our private Lindos shore excursion times the visit to arrive before the tour groups, leaving the afternoon for the Medieval Town.

Valley of the Butterflies & Embonas Winery
Between July and September, the Valley of the Butterflies fills with thousands of Jersey tiger moths drawn to the liquidambar trees, one of the more quietly spectacular natural experiences in Greece. Combining it with a wine tasting in Embonas, a mountain village where local families have been growing Athiri and Mandilaria grapes for generations, makes for a genuinely different half-day that most cruise passengers never consider. Our Valley of the Butterflies and winery tour is one of our most requested private experiences for independent travellers staying on the island.
