The Ultimate Private Ancient Corinth Experience
Ancient Corinth is where classical Greece and early Christian history meet on the same ground. Once one of the richest city-states of the ancient world, it is the place where the Apostle Paul lived, worked, and preached for 18 months, and the city to which he later addressed two letters of the New Testament.
With a fully private tour designed around you, you will walk the Lechaion Road, stand before the 6th-century BC Temple of Apollo, and see the Bema where Paul stood before the Roman proconsul Gallio - at your own pace, with an expert guide, and without a group schedule pushing you forward.
From the moment we pick you up in Athens or at the port of Nafplio to the moment we drop you back, everything is taken care of. All you have to do is step back 2,500 years.

Why Choose a Private Tour to Ancient Corinth?
Ancient Corinth rewards time and context. The ruins make sense when someone explains what you are looking at: why a Doric temple from 540 BC still stands here, why Rome destroyed and rebuilt the city, and why a tentmaker from Tarsus chose Corinth as his base in Greece. Here is why our guests consistently rate us 5 stars:
- 100% private - just you and your group, no strangers ever added to your booking
- Fully flexible itinerary - spend more time at the Bema, the museum, or the canal, as you prefer
- Licensed, English-speaking expert guide - deep knowledge of classical history and the biblical record
- Premium vehicle - door-to-door pickup from hotel, cruise port, or airport
- Combine with more sights - Nafplio, Mycenae, Epidaurus, or the Acrocorinth fortress
- Free cancellation - full refund up to 48 hours before the tour
How long is the tour?
A private tour of Ancient Corinth typically lasts 4 to 5 hours from Athens, including the drive (about 1 hour 15 minutes each way) and the Corinth Canal stop. From Nafplio, the site is only 45 minutes away, which makes it an easy half-day shore excursion. From Piraeus cruise port, our Shore Excursion to Corinth takes 5 to 6 hours round trip, well within a typical port call. Combined with Nafplio, Mycenae, or Epidaurus, it becomes a full-day Peloponnese experience of 8 to 9 hours.
Best time to visit Ancient Corinth?
Early morning is the quietest and coolest time on site, and the light on the Temple of Apollo is at its best. In summer we recommend starting the visit before 10:00 or after 16:00. We always advise the optimal timing based on your schedule and the season.
What to wear?
Comfortable, flat walking shoes are essential - the site has uneven ancient surfaces and loose gravel. Light clothing and a hat are strongly recommended in summer, and there is little shade among the ruins. Sunscreen is a must from May to October.
Is Ancient Corinth accessible?
The main archaeological site is relatively flat and more manageable than many Greek sites, though surfaces are uneven in places. The Archaeological Museum is accessible. The Acrocorinth fortress above the site involves steep terrain and is not suitable for visitors with mobility challenges. Please let us know your requirements when booking and we will plan accordingly.
What Our Guests Say
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"We brought 12 members of our congregation from Ontario, and standing at the Bema while our guide read from Acts 18 moved many of us to tears. He handled our questions about Paul's letters with real depth, and the minibus was comfortable for the whole group. Our church will be back with the next group."
- Pastor David M., Protestant church group from Canada
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"We were picked up right at the tender pier in Nafplio and saw Ancient Corinth, the canal, and still had time for a coffee in Nafplio before reboarding. Perfectly planned around our ship's schedule."
- Susan & Robert K., cruise passengers from USA
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"Our guide brought the ruins to life - the Temple of Apollo, the ancient shops, the fountain. And the stop at the Corinth Canal was spectacular. So much better than doing it on our own."
- Emma L., family from Australia
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to book Ancient Corinth tickets in advance?
Tickets can usually be purchased at the entrance, but in peak season (June to September) we recommend booking online in advance. The ticket includes both the archaeological site and the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth. We provide full guidance when you book with us.
Can you pick us up from our cruise ship in Nafplio?
Absolutely. We meet you directly at the Nafplio tender pier and return you well before your ship's departure time. Ancient Corinth is one of the most popular shore excursions from Nafplio port, only 45 minutes away.
Can we visit Ancient Corinth from Piraeus cruise port?
Yes - Ancient Corinth is one of the best shore excursions from Piraeus for travelers who have already seen Athens or want to follow the footsteps of Apostle Paul. The drive takes about 1 hour each way, and our private Shore Excursion to Corinth fits comfortably within a standard port day, including the Corinth Canal stop. We meet you at the Piraeus cruise terminal and guarantee your return well before departure.
Is this tour suitable for Christian and pilgrimage travelers?
Yes, very much so. Corinth is one of the most important sites of Paul's missionary journeys. Your guide connects the ruins with the Acts of the Apostles and the two Letters to the Corinthians, including the Bema where Paul stood before Gallio and the Erastus inscription naming a city official mentioned in Romans 16:23.
Can I combine Ancient Corinth with other destinations?
Yes - the most popular combinations are Corinth with Nafplio and the Palamidi Castle, or Corinth with Mycenae and Epidaurus for a full-day ancient Peloponnese route. From Athens, many guests add Isthmia or a longer stop at the canal.
What languages do your guides speak?
Our guides are fluent in English. Please contact us if you require a guide in another language and we will do our best to accommodate you.
How many people can join the private tour?
Our tours are 100% private - just your group, no strangers ever added. We accommodate individuals, couples, and families in our luxury Mercedes vehicles, and groups of up to 14 passengers in our Mercedes Sprinter. For larger private groups, such as church congregations and organizations, we arrange multiple vehicles or a private coach so your whole group travels together with the same guide. Contact us with your group size and we will plan accordingly.
What is your cancellation policy?
We offer free cancellation up to 48 hours before the tour start time for a full refund.
