Location

Day 1: Athens – Vlatades Monastery – Thessaloniki

  • Start your day with a pick-up from your Athens hotel and a stop at Thermopylae to admire the statue of Leonidas, commemorating the Battle of the 300. Continue to Thessaloniki to visit the Monastery of Vlatades, perched on the northern side of Ano Poli, the only surviving Byzantine monastery in the city. Inside the church, see the famous “St. Paul’s stone,” marking the spot where the Apostle is believed to have preached. Founded between 1351–1371, by Vlatis, the monastery offers peaceful grounds and panoramic views of the Thermaic Gulf. Then explore the Eptapyrgion Fortress (Heptapyrgion/Yedi Kule), a UNESCO World Heritage site and key stop on the St. Paul Cultural Route, featuring museum exhibits. Overnight in Thessaloniki.

Day 2: Nea Fokea – Philippi – Kavala – Lydia’s Baptismal Site

  • After breakfast, leave Thessaloniki for Nea Fokea, home to the Agiasma of St. Paul, an underground passage where Paul sought refuge. Explore the crypt where he endured imprisonment and continued his ministry. Continue to Philippi, where Paul preached Europe’s first Christian sermon and baptized Lydia, the first European convert. Day 6: Christian Tour in Athens – Ferry to Patmos

  • Begin your Christian tour in Athens, following in the footsteps of Apostle Paul. Your guide will take you to the Ancient Agora, where Paul spoke about the resurrection of Jesus to local philosophers. Walk through the historic marketplace and reflect on the early Christian conversations that shaped the faith. Continue your biblical journey to the Acropolis, visiting the Parthenon and Erechtheion while learning how ancient Athens influenced Paul’s ministry. The highlight is Mars Hill (Areopagus), where Paul delivered his famous sermon to the Athenians. This is one of the most important Christian sites in Greece.
  • At 18:00, board the ferry to Patmos, the sacred island of St. John. Enjoy an overnight cabin on board. Upon arrival, a local driver will transfer you to your hotel.

Day 7: Patmos – Cave of the Apocalypse & Monastery of St. John – Ferry to Piraeus

  • Today is dedicated to the holiest sites of Patmos, one of the most important Christian pilgrimage destinations in Greece. Visit the sacred grotto where St. John received the Revelation in 95 AD. This UNESCO site is considered a cornerstone of biblical history. Explore the impressive 11th-century monastery of Monastery of St. John the Theologian, with centuries-old icons, manuscripts, frescoes, and religious treasures. Chora of Patmos, Walk through the peaceful whitewashed settlement with chapels, neoclassical mansions, narrow alleys, and panoramic views. See a 300-year-old Patmian house of Simantiris, filled with antiques and a rare blend of Eastern and Western architectural influences.
  • Late in the evening, your driver will take you to the port for your return ferry to Piraeus. Overnight on board.

Day 8: Arrival at Piraeus – Christian Tour of Ancient Corinth (St. Paul Route)

  • Meet your driver at around 08:00 and continue your Apostle Paul biblical tour toward Ancient Corinth, one of the most important stops in Paul’s ministry. Stop briefly at the Corinth Canal, an engineering marvel with breathtaking views. In Ancient Corinth, learn about Paul’s ministry, his preaching at the local synagogue, and his relationship with Aquila and Priscilla. Visit the home of Titus Justus, hear the story of Crispus (the chief synagogue ruler converted by Paul), and understand Paul’s challenges with the Corinthian community. End the tour at Kechrias Port, where Paul departed for Ephesus. You will then be transferred to your hotel, marking the end of your Christian pilgrimage through Greece.

Cancelation Policy

  • In order to confirm any booking, 30% payment in advance is required, fully refundable in case of any written cancellation received 40 days prior the arrival date.
  • For any cancellation OR change between 39 days to 20 days prior the first day of arrival, cancellation fees equal to 50% of the total cost of program applies.
  • For any cancellation OR change within 19 days prior the first day of arrival and/or non shows, full cancellation fees applies – the total cost of the program.
  • A written notification of any cancellation or change is necessary to be sent to PRIVATE TOURS Greece.
