The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki
The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki is the most important museum in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. It holds and interprets artifacts from the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods, mostly from the city of Thessaloniki but also from the region of Macedonia in general.

Mount Athos
Mount Athos, is an endless Byzantine Museum. It’s the centre of Eastern Christian Orthodox Monasticism. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, it is a treasury which houses and guards many artefacts and monuments of religions, national and artistic value. It is also a "workshop" where religions arts and crafts are still practised to this day, and where deep and genuine spirituality is allowed to flourish and bear fruit. As an institution Mount Athos is, and has been, the chief standard bearer of Orthodox Christianity. You can visit and stay in the monasteries only with written authorization, or by daily boat trips. There is a prohibition on entry for women, called avaton (Άβατον) in Greek, to make living in celibacy easier for those who have chosen to do so.

The Petralona Cave
The bejewelled with stalagmites and stalactites Petralona Cave has been developed on the western side of the limestone Katsika mountain 1 km to the East of the homonymous village and 50 km SE of Thessaloniki in Chalkidiki. The systematic excavations in the Cave started in 1965 and research proved that Petralona Archanthropus (i.e. an archaic Homo sapiens) has an age of about 700.000 years ago, which is the oldest known Europeoid man. Also, it is based on the study of the Palaeolithic tools, as well as the exact diagnosis of the Palaeofauna species, which have been discovered in almost all layers. Among the fossils of the extinct species found in the Cave lions, hyenas, bears, panthers, elephants, rhinos, megacerines, bisons, and various species of dears and equids (horse like) are included, as well as 25 species of birds, 16 species of rodents and 17 species of bats.Entrance is allowed daily (all year around) with guides, from 9:00 till 16:00 in the winter and till 18:00 in the summer and ticket price for both Cave and Anthropological Museum is 7 euros

Ancient Stageira - birthplace of Aristotle and Ancient Olynthos
Just south of the settlement of Olympiada on the Halkidiki peninsula, north of Athos, is ancient Stageira. In 384 BC this became the birth place of Aristotle, one of the greatest philosophers of classical antiquity. In 1990 they began to excavate this site and reveal foundation stones of this city, which had already been deserted by the time of Christ. Besides walking through the ruins - 14 km to the southwest in the modern village of Stagira, there is a statue of Aristotle in the park that bears his name.

The White Tower of Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki White Tower is the most characteristic monument in Thessaloniki and the city’s absolute trademark. The White Tower, located on the old beach, was constructed in the middle of the 5th century A.D. replacing an old Byzantine tower that was already in ruins. It was erected near the end of the fortification walls, next to the sea. Even though it is the city’s most beloved monument, its history throughout the centuries is rather dark. We know little of the circumstances under which it was constructed. But according to one version, it was built by the Venetians (1423-1430), while the other estimates that it was built in 1536.
